Replacing an Underground Water Line with Trenchless Method
Can they split copper like that?
Os that just pex?
excellent !!!!
Love that concept
Where are u located, and what states do you service
Genius
Excellent work 👍🏻
Great video your driver was hauling ass tho
WHY…. Did the original build pipe fail??.
Great video, thanks for taking the time to post.
Any way I could figure up the rough cost of this? Currently have 3/4 galvanized underground
Trying to buy a house I imagine the pipe is bad house from 76 and tree growing directly next to pipe and tree is pretty massive
How much is this procedure?
Nooooooo don’t put lex in the ground
Pretty cool 👍🏾👍🏾
I would never have PVC at the wall penetration like that. Asking for future trouble to save $5.
Does the smaller diameter effect the water pressure to the property? Thanks
Yes if they downsize the pipe it will
What brand pulling kit are you guys using? I’m a plumber in Pennsylvania and have been looking into these
What state are you in that allows pex underground
Wow!! Absolutely phenomenal!!
Why use pex over copper?
Oh God I count count the ways it's better.
What to do if the pipe is galvanized?
what is the average cost compared to standard replacement trenching.
Thank you for the video. Question: can this be used if the sewage line has a belly ? I am guessing not because that would cause the new line to have a belly as well? Gotta 6-8 ft of a belly on the sewage line causing a back up every once a while. I can't afford to dig a tunnel for it, what would be your advice, what are my choices? Thanks.
why would you let it twist goin in like that... slow down and do a decent job
plastic water pipes should be illegal. too many microplastics people. gonna eventually fuck up your brain
Very impressive.
If we are pulling a one inch line, we make a 3 inch core hole. And use links seals to make it water tight like a frogs ass. But I like your snatch block. Very nice. Also our water has to be 5 feet deep. Up in NY
Ha that’s not deep enough where I live!!
Great work guys. Curious to know what happens if the old pipe is so damaged and cannot be used to guide the new casing through it ?
You can always shoot your own path and leave the old pipe in the ground. It's called a line bore
Yeah we mostly do Directional boring. Will drill amd pull a 1 1/2" poly sleeve and push in a 1" pex.
We abandoned the old line and bored ( drilled ) a new path from Meter to House. Once the boring bit reached the house we attach the new Poly line and the rig pulls it back. Then Voila new water main from Meter to House.
great informative video. Love the procedure and the thorough explanation
The video you shared is very helpful! hope to be your companion in the future, thank you for everything!👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Very cool, love those compression fittings.
Around how much is rhis kind of job?
GENIUS method. This excellent video is a great service to the general public. THANK YOU.
This is entertaining as hell. Thanks.
Zippidy doo doo zippidy day
what is the longest distance you can pull this way?
what is the maximum distance you can pull this way?
Can you replace a copper line with a new copper line? What about replacing 1/2" copper with 3 /4" ? I hate Pex. I don't want to drink from Pex.
But how did you get pipe puller through system, Information please.
They simply feed a multi-strand pull-cable from the water service supply side up to & over to/through the foundation side & then reverse-pull the pipe splitter through while also pulling the replacement hose.
Do you have any tricks to replace a 70 y/o corroded galvanized steel water service line under a concrete slab?
next winter will ne to be replaced again do the same thing with K soft copper, that can be good up to 60 years 😎
Can you do that when replacing buried copper?
Thats simply amazing
How did you get the cable threw the old pipe from the meter to the house to pull the pex threw????
probably with a fish tape
I would like to se how the section that have the collapsed pipe look like , i imagine will hav a bump or something eh?
Looking at the new tubing twisting going in, have you considered supporting it with some sort of bearing arrangement? Say, one of those expandable reels like they use at the hardware store when you buy cut-to-length wire. Pay for itself the first time the tubing kinks.
Great video! I'm replacing my 1cuft/hr leak, 30+ YO buried copper service line via a home warranty company, and counter to mine and the service technician's suggestion of trenchless replacement, the company wants to spot repair my 30+ YO buried copper pipe. I called the plumbing company, then the warranty company, and I hope a second, third, fourth, etc opinion can deliver trenchless replacement. It does seem like the tools could be paid for with one or two jobs, and the work could last another decade. This video has helped re-affirm my stubborn-ness...I am impressed it made the corner, will this slitter method work for a straight run of Copper too?
Thats pretty slick! I'm thinking that the home owner saved a ton of money too. Great job!
